EGCOA Mission Statement

"The European Golf Course Owners Association provides a range of services to support golf course owners in their aims, as well as representing their interests and seeking to improve the golf business on a European level." Lodewijk Klootwijk, EGCOA Director.

The European Golf Course Owners Association (EGCOA) is a trade association for golf course owners and operators across Europe. The EGCOA protects and nurtures the interests of owners and operators throughout Europe, from 9-hole facilities to the owners of multiple golf courses.

With the growing role of the European Union (EU) and the shift of decision making from a national to a European level, the role of the EGCOA as Europe's leading authority on the business of golf course ownership is increasing rapidly.

Besides the role of a trade association, the EGCOA is also a valuable source for information, education and inspiration on how to operate golf facilities as efficiently and profitably as possible. In addition, the EGCOA aims to improve the golf business as a whole through the creation of various programs for growing the game, creating a positive public opinion of golf and through co-operation with other EU stakeholders.

The EGCOA is a not-for-profit organization, and is the only trade association in existence today, which is dedicated exclusively to golf course owners and operators.

The Prime Objectives of the Association:
- To support the interests of golf course owners and operators by representing them on a European level by liaising with the European Commission, other European golf bodies and relevant European and international organisations.
- To professionalise and improve the golf business
- To grow the game of golf
