A very popular moment at the EGCOA Conference was former European Tour executive director Ken Schofield receiving the 2008 EGCOA award for his outstanding contribution to developing the European Tour and for the positive effect this has had on the growth of the game. The EGCOA has signed agreements with the International Association of Golf Tour Operators and the PGA’s of Europe at the 3rd European Golf Business conference in Berlin. In the future, this organisations will co-operate, support and share knowledge with the EGCOA. It was also agreed that mutual recognition of logos is granted and CEO’s will act as Patrons of the respective associations. General meeting in Berlin: plans and budget 2009 accepted
The financial report over 2007 was accepted by the general meeting, as was the budget for the new year. The focus of the EGCOA for the coming year will be on professionalizing and growing the business more. Ways to achieve this are for instance by building handbooks for golf operations, facilitate better communication between EGCOA members and continuing the EU lobby on pest and water directive.

EGCOA Board elected for another three years
The board of the EGCOA has been re-elected during the General Meeting at the Golf Business Conference in Berlin. All board members were motivated to start another term of three years. Under this board, the EGCOA succeeded to unite 10 national golf course operator federations (the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, France, Sweden, Italy, Portugal, Czech Republic, Finland and Slovenia) with more than 600 golf course enterprises under a European roof. This development is to be continued also in the next years.
