European Union - Water Management in River Basins
The EGCOA is a member of the EGA Golf Course Committee. An important issue under consideration at the moment is the development of River Basin Management Plans, an integral part of the Water Framework Directive currently under consideration by the European Commission. If we do not participate in the discussion and engage with our local and national agencies whilst they consider their position, our golf courses and clubs may be adversely affected, as they will consider the needs of other water users before us.

First speakers announced for European Golf Business Conference 2009
The first speakers are confirmed for the 4th European Golf Business Conference. Laurence W. Pithie, the first man in the United Kingdom to earn 'master greenkeeper' honours, is one of them. Pithie, who now runs training and consultancy company Turf Master One, will talk about boosting revenue when improving maintenance and management of the golf course.
