Launch of 2011 E-Learning Courses for Club Managers
Amsterdam, NL - 16. March 2011: In the autumn of 2010, the EGCOA and CMAE launched the first in a series of six-week online courses in club management. These courses are open to club managers across Europe, and can be taken from the comfort of their home or office. The programs are managed by Hotelschool The Hague, one of the world's leading hospitality schools.
The first course due to take place this year is entitled, 'Membership, Marketing and Food & Beverage Management for Clubs', and will start/finish on the following dates:
Start Wednesday 11 May 2011 - Finish Wednesday 29 June 2011
Start Wednesday 12 October 2011 - Finish Wednesday 30 November 2011
"The market place for golf is changing rapidly. More than ever, golf courses need well-trained managers and staff. One of the core goals of the EGCOA is to professionalise the business. Theese courses have been developed in partnership with Hotelschool The Hague and CMAE and are a perfect initiative for this goal. We are very pleased that we can offer our members a program that is tailor-made for the golf industry, and which has great added value for any manager or assistant manager in our industry." EGCOA Director, Lodewijk Klootwijk
"The collaboration with Performance Management BV Hotelschool The Hague takes advantage of a fine reputation for hospitality training and development, and tailors those concepts and skills to the world of clubs, where we all ply our trade. The flexible nature of the course is of particular benefit to me, as time is precious, and with a young family my time is no longer necessarily my own!," says Richard Pennell Assistant Secretary, New Zealand Golf Club, UK. "The course is entirely flexible and the educational material of such a high standard that I believe there is currently nothing else around for the Club Manager that can come anywhere near it. If you are studying for the CCM accreditation, you will pick up valuable education credits, but more importantly, you will enjoy every minute. I have seen the future of Club Manager education.....!"Participants will be asked to devote at least 5-6 hours per week to course work, and during the six-weeks they will be provided with reading material, required to submit assignments, and to contribute to virtual discussions on relevant topics with the Course Tutor and fellow learners.
